B) I have at least one year of GS-12 grade level equivalent specialized experience.

I have been a GS-12 grade Marine Interdiction Agent (MIA) with US Customs & Border Protection since May of 2007.  In this capacity I have held responsibility for spearheading intelligence gathering and covert operations vital to US border smuggling/terrorism interdiction objectives.

I am concurrently serving as a GS-12 Purchasing Card Agent, where I apply strong administrative and accounting skills toward cost-effectively managing office accounts payable/expenses using a government-issued credit card and checkbook.

KSA 2. Indicate the extent of your experience in improving the efficiency and quality of the work performed.

D)  I have recommended specific changes that have improved my work unit's efficiency and the quality of its work.

Over the course of 8 years combined experience as a Border Patrol Agent, and more recently a Marine Interdiction Agent (MIA), I have consistently contributed to optimizing operations through proactive practices and recommendations.  For instance, with responsibility for training subordinate MIAs, I have defined/implementing effective training procedures instrumental to boosting individual and group performance.

Similarly, in my dual role as a Purchasing Card Agent, I have developed/facilitated strategies to more effectively utilize/allocate limited financial resources to maximize cost-effectiveness and quality of product/services while ensuring office operational needs are met.

While working as a Bank Teller, I also played a critical role in maximizing quality of operations by actively collaborating with our Branch Manager in auditing and balancing our bank vault.

With numerous years of Border Protection experience, I have been able to develop expertise in our operations, and apply this background toward delivering quality team training and direction in support of achieving goals and objectives critical to national security.

As a Respiratory Therapist, I also demonstrated dynamic leadership skills in assessing patients and providing physicians with expert recommendations on optimal treatment therapies.  In this position, I further served as a key team member in facilitating prompt response to emergency medical situations.

Further, while working as a Bank Teller, customers relied on my expertise and assistance to achieve their banking goals as well as troubleshoot any service issues.

My academic background further supports my ability to motivate and guide others.  I ve earned a Bachelor Degree in Management and am in the process of completing an MBA.
