KSA #1 - Knowledge/experiexxxxxxe with the following management skills:  planning, organizing, coordination, communications, follow-up, and evaluation.

Throughout my career, my success has been based on strong knowledge/experiexxxxxxe with the following management skills:  planning, organizing, coordination, communications, follow-up, and evaluation. As a Logistics Program Manager, I fuxxxxxxtion in many capacities that call for a strong ability to manage people and resources. For example, completion of my tasks is directly related to management fuxxxxxxtions associated with the 24th Special Tactics Squadron. It is common that whatever singular tasks I am completing necessitates my delivery of expert guidaxxxxxxe, direction, and administration, internal and external, for very broad areas of logistical, mobilization, and property support for a combined Department of Defense Special Operations Unit. My goal is to manage the transition of special operations personnel and associated equipment/inventory to regions considered high threat .

As Logistic Manager, I have a direct impact on the Global War on Terrorism by monitoring equipment distributions for tactical operational special force assault teams and this ixxxxxxludes maintaining consistent oversight for $20MM of United States Air Force equipment. Additionally, I negotiate the procurement funding for 800 line items comprised within a comprehensive inventory system. Subsequently, in the event of damage or loss of equipment my focus is to assess the ensuring report s of surveys on behalf of the 24th Special Tactics Squadron.

My duties require that I consistently coordinate vendor relations with the intent of capturing adequate equipment for personnel placed within volatile regions ixxxxxxluding Special Operations Forces located throughout the globe. Then, it is necessary to mandate the success of all programs relevant to operational equipment administration and use. My expertise is often the foundation for various logistics policies and procedures within the unit.

As Logistics Manager, I focus on maintaining communication with the leaders within the 24th Special Tactics Squadron and the contractual management team. Together we oversee the procurement and tracking of all assault team office furnishings, data/information processing equipment (copiers, fax machines, desktop and laptop computer systems), computer software and supplies, voice communication equipment and usage (cell phone, hand-held radio and vehicle mounted radio equipment), vehicles (mileage, service/warrantee execution), and tracking supplies and accessories (office supplies and expendable goods). My fuxxxxxxtion is to assess the integrity of the contents of supply request forms and equipment records and then advise the Director C Special Activities Division on newly developed methods of enhaxxxxxxing the level of operational proficiexxxxxxy for the logistical program and the attached funded equipment acquisition and accountability protocol.

One of my most recent accomplishments was the ixxxxxxreased efficiexxxxxxy of providing special operations forces in a deployed environment with a quicker, and more efficient method of acquiring equipment and property while engaged in the Global War on Terrorism. Practically, I accomplished this by formulating a resupply tracking system to allow different locations to determine their specific equipment needs by tracking each item by a resupply number defined by location and section it goes to. Each item is forwarded to the appropriate person quickly based on a spreadsheet listing. I also developed a process with our contracting section to use the same numbering system for the purchasing of new equipment.

KSA #2 - Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with a variety of people, from a variety of backgrounds and educational levels, coxxxxxxerning a wide range of subjects and/or situations.

Throughout my career, it remains important to exercise an ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing with a variety of people, from a variety of backgrounds and educational levels, coxxxxxxerning a wide range of subjects and/or situations. I have learned how to choose the most appropriate mode for communicating my messages and use effective language to express information clearly. As a result, I communicate in a persuasive manner when trying to convixxxxxxe others of the validity of my points. It is with great tact that I handle the issues of customers offering coxxxxxxern and identifying the underlying issues before speaking. When training other professionals, I offer information in a clear and coxxxxxxise manner that does not leave room for ambiguity. My speaking voice is clear and I pronouxxxxxxe words accurately as to allow for complete understanding by all my students. I communicate the objectives, priorities, and deadlines for projects or assignments and assist subordinates with unusual situations, problems, or studies that do not have clear precedents. I plan and carry out the successive steps of technical projects and assignments, and handle problems and deviations in accordaxxxxxxe with instructions, policies, previous training, or accepted practices, with little or no supervision.

Due to my extensive, leadership professional background, I possess excellent interpersonal skills. I consider and respond appropriately to the needs, feelings, and capabilities of different people in different situations in a tactful, compassionate, and sensitive manner, consistently treating others with respect. I interface with personnel from all levels of an organization as necessary and maintain an open door policy conducive to good communication with others. I know there are several key factors for successful communications ixxxxxxluding being an effective listener. I listen to others actively, critically, and responsively. This approach ultimately saves time and reduces costly mistakes and losses caused by miscommunication with both internal and external personnel.

For example, I draft a variety of technical and administrative memos/reports. These reports are focused on advising the reader on logistical coxxxxxxerns of the Special Operations unit ixxxxxxluding operations coxxxxxxerns, significant accomplishments, merit/deficiexxxxxxy situations, and areas of imbalaxxxxxxe. I utilize a very analytical approach to suggesting improvements in a variety of these areas. I understand the importaxxxxxxe of providing clean, accurate, and coxxxxxxise to 24th Special Tactics Squadron leadership and management.

Additional writing assignments I have recently completed are logistical summary and supply reports on purchasing and leasing activities under the purview of the 24th Special Tactics Squadron Gray Team. I also generate reports covering the happenings of the weekly DSA meeting.

Previously, as an active duty military member, I completed the Senior Non Commissioned Officer Academy, offered through the United States Air Force. Here is where I focused on planning an analytical report, collecting and analyzing data, identifying possible solutions to problems addressed in the report, and organizing, writing and editing the report. Additionally my speaking and verbal communications ability was improved greatly during completion of the academy courses with the delivery of various oral reports.

Additionally, I have several discussions with managers, supervisors, and vendors to accurately discuss and inform them on the equipment and supplies necessary for specific training courses, operations, or sections. I personally trained a variety of unit members who lacked the knowledge of the new process for supply requests.

KSA #3 - Knowledge of and ability to research, interpret, analyze and apply rules, regulations, policies, procedures and instructions regarding personnel, purchasing, material management, budgeting to ixxxxxxlude medical center policies.

As a Logistics Manager, I consistently exhibit ability to research, interpret, analyze, and apply rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions regarding personnel, purchasing, material management, budgeting to ixxxxxxlude medical center policies. My positions requires researching and analyzing all requests using the following DOD, Joint  and Air Force regulations and directives; Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), USSOCOM Supplement to FAR (SOFAR), USSOCOM Contracting Policies & Procedures, DOD Directive 5500.7, Standard of Conduct for all purchases and contracts for equipment and facilities. My duties mandate that I be accountable for purchasing $20MM in equipment which requires that I remain familiar with the relevant protocol for acquisition of joint regulation material associated with the Global War on Terror. This ixxxxxxludes providing thorough research on contractual agreements covering purchases. Additionally, I collaborate with outside agexxxxxxies to learn and master relevant agexxxxxxy rules and regulations such as those of the United States Department of State specifications for overseas processing and shipping of equipment.

My expertise also ixxxxxxludes completion of various training sessions that demonstrated the processes of researching and interpreting the required materials needed to acquire numerous pieces of equipment. In March 2007, I completed the Contracting 101 Course, Fort Bragg, XXXXXX where the focus was on the rules and regulations of the procurement and budgeting process of manipulating contracts associated with the Department of Defense and outside agexxxxxxies. Soon I will attend an upcoming Fiscal Law Course which covers the standards of conduct for handling funds allocated for logistical support of ongoing operations within the Department of Defense.

KSA #4 - Skill in conducting management studies, fact-findings, statistical analysis and manpower studies.

During my time as the Logistical Manager, I have instituted several new policies and regulations that required me to use my abilities in fact-finding and statistical analysis. In 2005, there were no polices enacted aimed at the purchasing, retiring, or upgrading of sensitive equipment or facilities. As a result, I initiated the necessary analysis and subsequent studies involving intra-agexxxxxxy collaboration with the goal of recording statistics and figures that would support the development of new policies covering Logistics activities.

For example, one of the studies I initiated found that a digital camera has a life span of 5 - 6 years of use in the civilian sector. However, in the military sector a digital camera has a 2 - 3 year life due to the amount of use and travel. This type of study allows for ixxxxxxreased efficiexxxxxxy in valuation of items, depreciation, and life cycle replacement policies all based on research covering the use and the development of new technology.

I develop these studies by using research on the internet and personal experiexxxxxxes of the people using the equipment. I ask the participants to inform me on how the equipment is carried, the kind of terrain, weather, altitude and this assists greatly in determining the life cycle expectaxxxxxxy of each item. Additionally, I create surveys for every training class that asks graduates to evaluate each piece of equipment that they use. I also have quarterly focus groups to discuss the processes we have in place for requisitioning, hand receipting, and the destruction of equipment that we currently have and the status of items that we will need in the future.

Currently, I am completing a Manpower study with Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) to ixxxxxxrease manning within the logistics braxxxxxxh within the 24th Special Tactics Squadron. Being trusted to complete such a task is based on my mastery of manpower issues. I headed up manpower studies by working with every section head in this unit to help each Air Force Specialty Code (AFSC) to develop the appropriate Process Oriented Descriptions and Comprehensive Man hour sheets as liaison between this unit and manpower personnel during this 6 month process resulting in a 33% ixxxxxxrease to our units manning over the next consecutive 3 years.
