Logistics Planner (AFSC 2GO71)
As Planner for Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and Joint Strategic Exercise and Training (JSET) deployments, with reporting responsibility to Mission and Special Operations Group Commanders, am charged with overall mission success. This includes all exercise/deployment coordination as well as developing and meeting stringent budget parameters while supervising four Airmen. Serve in liaison role, coordinating funding and all logistical activities between host nation and U.S. military forces. On an annualized basis, as sole Logistics Planner for 200+ personnel, maintain oversight of total budget of $52MM. Employ numerous factors in determining best areas for conducting deployment/exercise activities, taking into consideration personnel safety as well as cost effectiveness of use of any/all sites under consideration. Calculate budget for each deployment/exercise, particularly assessing per-traveler costs, utilizing foreign clearance guide and relevant/current per diem rates. Interface with contractors, assuring any agreed-to conditions are legal, cost effective and within budget.
When deployment/exercises are scheduled be held in populated areas, assess hotels in locales under consideration for capabilities in providing necessary facility amenities, including work space large enough for 12 special mission planner cells. Additional considerations include capability of procurement of all necessary meals for duration of exercises, scheduling aircraft for re-supplying shuttle missions, and coordinating all needed ground transportation. On occasions when deployment/exercises are scheduled to be conducted in non-populated/bare bases, or in consideration of additional possible contingency needs, hold inspection responsibilities to assess potential sites regarding feasibility of use by aircraft and ground forces. Additionally, direct inspection teams, evaluating response times and adherence to policies/guidelines set by Installation Deployment Officer.
During four-year tenure in current assignment in the 353 SOG in Japan, served as sole Logistics Planner in Asian-Pacific countries. Highlights of deployment/exercise logistics involvement include:
Balance Piston in the Philippines: for 21-day exercise, deployed 117 personnel, 12 short tons of cargo and two MC130 aircraft.
Teak Mint in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia: for 36-day exercise, deployed 90 personnel, 16 short tons of cargo and three MC-130 aircraft.
Teak Buffalo in Bangladesh: deployed 22 personnel and one MC130 aircraft.
Balance Torch in Thailand: deployed 130 personnel, two MC130 aircraft and one KC135 air refueler.
Ellipse Charlie (location classified): at this bare base area, deployed 242 personnel and four MC130 aircraft.
Utilizing skill sets in logistics management, participated in earthquake relief in Indonesia, led mobility team for Haitian disaster relief, and was sole logistics planner for assistance following 6.9 earthquake in Okinawa, Japan.

Logistics Planner
Served as NCO War Reserve Materiel (WRM) Program Manager for installation. Managing budget of $224MM+ in vehicles and equipment, rotated hazardous and shelf-life assets and was tasked with budget development/execution, requisitions, and forward deployment and pre-positioning of equipment. Met on quarterly basis with Base Commander, bringing him up-to-date on work orders and turn around for asset rotation.
