in my current role as a supervisory therapeutic radiologic technologist for philadelphia veterans medical center, i contribute my data collection and analytical skills toward providing direct clinical care.  applying my strong attention to detail, i perform all aspects of varian radiation oncology, including impac and treatment planning systems, ct/simulation, imrt radiotherapy and quality assurance.  in addition, i utilize data collection techniques in conducting comprehensive review and analysis of daily activities and overseeing all aspects of the radiation therapy department, with full accountability for supervising, evaluating and motivating radiation therapists. 

 

utilizing standardized data collection methods, information analysis tools and data analysis methods, i effectively monitor the quality of processes and systems in the radiation therapy department.  i perform processor quality control tests, monitor accuracy and reproducibility, and identify and solve problems.

 

in my prior position as a senior staff radiation therapist at the hospital of the university of pennsylvania, i worked at the philadelphia veterans medical center (since 2003) in cooperation with hup, and served as clinical on-site radiation/oncology therapist.  i strategically coordinated performance improvement processes through interdisciplinary measurement, analysis, and actions to improve services.  i also maintained systematic data collection and flow of information between departments to build key working relationships.

as the supervisory therapeutic radiologic technologist, i supervise all aspects of the  radiation therapy department, with strong focus on ensuring budget compliance.  i effectively manage human, financial and technical resources to maximize quality of patient care and ensure smooth flow of operations.  i strategically coordinate, create, and advise in the development of new radiation oncology services programs and policies, with accountability for allocating budgets and resources.  i also play a key role in promoting the construction and long-term planning of the new cancer center at pvamc.  i also conducted comprehensive review and analysis of key new products and equipment to control costs and improve operations while maintaining high quality and service standards.

throughout my progressive career, i have repeatedly demonstrated my talent to support management in managing and directing the work of others to accomplish program goals.  my record shows repeated success, resulting in progressive increased responsibilities.  i have strong organizational skills with the ability to quickly diagnose unproductive workflows and processes and re-organize systems and workstations for maximum productivity. 

 

i appropriately delegate, so that even the most ambitious tasks and projects are achievable through hands-on oversight and short-term objectives including steps with time frames.  i successfully analyze current processes, evaluate alternatives and options, and implement creative solutions to meet program objectives.

 

my solid background in staff management has included responsibility for determining facility support and training requirements in order to develop and implementing strategic plans to maximize overall performance.  as a supervisory therapeutic radiologic technologist, i oversaw the radiation therapy department, with full accountability for supervising and evaluating radiation therapists, playing an instrumental role in the development of top performing team members.
