Throughout my progressive career, I have repeatedly demonstrated my talent to communicate both orally and in writing.  My record shows repeated success, resulting in progressive increased responsibilities.  I offer dynamic communication skills and effectively apply these skills toward interfacing with everyone from senior management, legal professionals and staff to clients, C-level executives and abused and neglected children. 

 

In my prior position as a Sole Practitioner Attorney, I directly met with clients, managed initial interviews and continuously maintained client contact throughout cases from inception through completion.  Applying critical thinking and analytical skills, I drafted legal correspondences and documentation, including detailed motions, briefs and complaints.  I also represented individuals and corporations for civil and criminal matters in state and federal courts, contributing my strong oral advocacy skills.

 

While working as the General Counsel for Nelson Auto Group, I consulted directly with the President and Managers and provided legal advice and recommendations both orally and in writing.  I re-drafted the Franchise Agreement with Automobili Lamborghini and updated the Employee Manual.  I also demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal relation skills in managing all employee and labor relations, ranging from employee conflict and discipline to performance evaluation and complaints.

 

As a Volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), I actively advocated for abused and neglected children and applied my oral and written communication skills to promote the best interests of the children.

 

Supporting my qualifications in communicating orally and in writing, I was appointed the Managing Associate Editor of the Law Review and achieved Dean  s List at Thomas Cooley Law School.  I also gained admission to both the Ohio and Oregon State Bars, utilizing my strong writing skills.

A key part of my jobs has been to interpret agency regulations, including case law and statutes, and analyze legal issues in order to determine, develop, recommend, and implement targeted policies and procedures vital to ensuring critical compliance with all laws and regulations.

 

Serving as the General Counsel for Nelson Auto Group, I maintained up to date on current industry and employment regulations, laws and statutes.  After conducting comprehensive research and analysis of key legal issues, I provided advice and recommendations to the President and Managers, to ensure smooth flow of operations while avoiding any conflicts of interest or violations.  I also reviewed and edited all official forms for legal sufficiency, including hiring packages, insurance benefits, 30-day performance reviews and official personnel files.  I reviewed, analyzed and interpreted regulations, case law and statutes to identify resolutions to a broad range of legal issues.

 

As a law clerk at Tanimura & Antle, I acquired valuable knowledge and experience on interpreting agency regulations, case laws and statutes, as well as legal analysis.  I attended weekly Monterey County Agriculture Legislation regarding The Monterey General Plan for the Vice President as it related to water rights in the Salinas Valley.  I prepared a thorough report incorporating conclusions, analysis and specific recommendations. 

 

To complement my professional experience, I have completed numerous professional training and development courses to further hone my ability to interpret agency regulations and analyze legal issues.  I have taken courses on HIPAA, Ohio Tax Reform, Commercial/Residential Landlord Tenant Law, Labor and Employment Law, Ohio Worker's Compensation and Fundamentals of Bankruptcy, amongst others.
