2006 to Present:  Fleet Security Officer/Auditor               

   Key leader in security administration for an international cruise line organization; travel extensively to conduct vulnerability and risk assessments on an expansive fleet of ships.

   Conduct comprehensive security assessments and develop full scale security plans for all new ships; review and revise current plans, author security manual revisions, lead investigations in the event of security breaches, and examine security incidents, liaising with shore side authorities as needed.

    Provide operational support for the ships upper management and security personnel; develop and implemented targeted best practices for access control, physical security, team building, workplace safety, incident response, training, and operations budgets.

   Lead all training, development and performance management strategies for new Security Officers; educate ships executive leaders in security incidents and contingency planning.

   Act as advisor to Senior Vice President of Global Security, Safety, and Environment; travel extensively to design, implement evaluate security policies, gain significant insight into working and communicating with international cultures including US, Central America, Northern and Southern Europe, Australia, Asia and India.

   Conduct regulatory ISPS security audits, and ensure Sarbanes Oxley compliance.

   Research and adopt new security technology; champion continuous improvement in policy and procedures based on industry trends and threats.

© Designed and implemented stringent policies aimed as strengthening security and compliance of international security operations; train and develop onboard security teams consisting of ex elite Israeli military personnel, ex Royal Marines, ex Nepalese Ghurkas, and ex Indian and Filipino Police and Defense force members. 

© Introduced fleet Marketing and Revenue department auditing procedures.

© Act as Quality Control Auditor for $30MM CCTV project; oversaw project installation and influenced the decision to make this major investment.

© Spearheaded development of critical bridge fortification project to eliminate bridge access points and reduce exposure and enhance shipboard security measures.

© Led the introduction of a multi-layered security approach to identification procedures for international ports of call and strengthened shell door security to alleviate port state control fines .

© Implemented an alcohol testing training and certification process for all shipboard Officers and Captains, designed fleet-wide crew cabin lock out procedures, and deployed a successful self assessment practice to enhance process and performance reviews.

© Authored a Declaration of Security completion guide to create cohesion in policy and practice relating to international ship and port security procedures.

© Integrated crew sign off routines to alleviate crew theft, and created a new fleet-wide key management and control routine.

© Conducted a security reconnaissance trip prior to foray into the Asian cruise market; facilitated strategic planning meetings with Asian ship handling agents, Port Facility Security Officers, and Terminal Security Officers to allow for a smooth go-to market transition.

   Developed, implemented and supported tactical security initiatives to optimize the safety and protection of assets and individuals; analyzed and defined security deficiencies and authored action plans to increase standards and safety performance.

 

2004 to 2005: Shipboard Safety Officer 

   Provided leadership and oversight for ships emergency planning and response protocols; conducted ongoing training and development for a crew of 850 in crisis management, crowd control, sea survival and firefighting processes.

   Led ship through 2 successful U.S. Coast Guard inspections and an external classification society audit.
