1999 to Present:  Xxxxxx Hospital Center, Xxxxxx XXXXXX - RN, Progressive Care Unit/Family Birthplace

   Provide hands on patient care for labor and delivery; Post Partum, Ante Partum, Operating Room, Well Baby Nursery and Pediatrics.

   Perform newborn resuscitation, assist with amino-infusions, per-term labor, vaginal examinations, and internal fetal scalp monitoring processes; address and resolve issues including prolapsed umbilical cords, emergency repairs and labor related crises.

   Assist physicians during C-Sections, hysterectomies, tubal ligations and various gynecological procedures; provide new mother education, and contribute toward training/mentoring of new staff.

   Integral member of a multidisciplinary team tasked with providing a safe and comfortable environment for expectant mothers and newborns.

 

1995 to 1999:  Cheyenne Regional Medical Center - Staff RN

   Performed nursing duties in Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics, Postpartum and GYN units; facilitated new parent education, provided care and comfort to new moms and post operative care for surgical patients.

   Coordinated care activities for surgery patients; acted as liaison between patients, doctors, agencies and families to update patients condition and after-care instructions. 

   Provided direct patient care; assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individual patient needs, actions taken and patient responses; worked within a multi-disciplinary team to coordinate care and gained insight into all specialties and team members that make up the patient care network.

 

1989 to 1995:  Shady Grove Adventist Hospital - Staff RN/Assistant Head Nurse, Birthplace

   Spearheaded efforts to form a committee to mandate progressive new mother education/postpartum care by nurses on every shift; optimized results in the safe discharge of moms and babies within 24 hours.

   Developed educational packages for patients with gestational diabetes, and provided leadership and oversight for patient care goals for the evening shift.

 

1986 to 1989:  Frederick Memorial Hospital - Staff RN, Home Health/Hospice

   Performed visiting nurse duties for hospice patients; delivered extensive diabetes education, wound care, ostonomy care, oncology treatments, changed dressings, and administered medications.
