Social Security Number:                   XXX-XX-XXXX

Position:                                             Director, National Finance Center, Dept. of Agriculture

Vacancy Posting Number:               # OHRM-ER-SES-10-0006

EXECUTIVE CORE QUALIFICATIONS (ECQ)

FACTOR 1:    LEADING CHANGE.   This core qualification involves the ability to bring about strategic change, both within and outside the organization, to meet organizational goals.  Inherent to this ECQ is the ability to establish an organizational vision and to implement it in a continuously changing environment.  (Competencies: Creativity and Innovation, External Awareness, Flexibility, Resilience, Strategic Thinking, Vision)

CHALLENGE:

Prior to 2004, my current employer had been a publicly-held corporation.  In 2004, the Board of Directors chose to de-list the company as publicly-held and change it to privately-held.

CONTEXT:

In order to play the major role in this changeover, I was assigned Power of Attorney to represent the Company in all financial matters.  In so doing, as then-Vice President of Finance, in addition to the Board of Directors, I interacted with the Chief Executive Officer as well as company auditors, attorneys and members of the Information Systems Department.

ACTION:

While the Company was publicly-held, I oversaw all areas of accounting, finance and administration, including all financial reporting, month-end closings, personnel stock issues, 401(k) Plans, and participating in all Management meetings.  Because of my oversight of and involvement with these and other significant Company divisions/programs, in conjunction with utilization of the Power of Attorney assignment, I was able to compile all documentation and other information required by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and to review the various SEC filings and reports.

RESULTS:

Following the Company move from publicly-held to privately-held, it has prospered, enjoying revenues in excess of $180MM.  Because I played an integral part in Company strategic planning and organizational direction prior to the de-listing, and continued in managing the same areas and functions following the change, the transition has been relatively seamless.  In my role as Chief Financial Officer, with many of the same responsibilities over finance, treasury and cash management, contract negotiations, budgetary concerns and personnel, including personnel stock option management and 401(k) Plans, I have been able to maintain the strength and integrity of the Company financial support structure.

CONTEXT:

During my tenure, the organization was considered to be the fourth-largest corporation involved in the manufacture of metal building systems for use in industrial, commercial and institutional markets.  There were 30+ subsidiaries, both domestic and foreign, requiring preparation of statements, Annual Reports and budgets for all divisions.

ACTION:
